How to train a Dachshund?:
Dachshund is the fifth most popular breed of dogs in U.S. These dogs are strong-minded, lovable, playful, clever, energetic and entertaining dogs. They are curious and can be very mischievous at times. They will misbehave if they don’t receive the attention they need.
It is a challenge to train these dogs as they tend to act stubborn at times. They are good with children but may turn snappy due to jealousy. As they are affectionate and devoted dogs they can become very good family dogs.
A dachshund whines when left alone. They always need companionship. Due to separation anxiety they may chew objects all around the house trying to relieve their stress. They should be taught to be patient and be comfortable being alone.
Even though they are small in size, Dachshunds are bold and will challenge larger dogs. These dogs love to play and so need lots of exercise. Dachshund training should begin as soon as you bring it home. Housetraining includes command, crate training, and paper training.
You should be patient and tolerant with your pet while training. Give him his space and time to learn things. You should not expect him to learn thing immediately. Obedience training should also start as soon as possible. The trainings should be scheduled regularly about three to four times a day and for a shorter duration of time.
You should train your dog before he eats his meals. Dogs do not learn good manners overnight. You need to have a lot of patience while training as Dachshund has a strong minded nature. To have a fun loving and devoted pet for many years you need to train your dog with patience and affection.
